The water is from a waterfall, yes they are in a jungle, but its nothing like the amazon or South American jungles. I would say it'd be safe to drink the water considering not all water is bad, boiling it or not.

I love how they just up and drink jungle water without boiling it first, if this was real they'd most likely be dead or in a bush somewhere considering suicide because their ass hurts so bad.

no that is impossible because locke left the island in season 5 and thats what the smoke monster had been trying to do so why would he try to convince the others to go back? ben killed locke by chocking him, this is the real john locke!

Ok, so new to Lost, never seen any episodes before I started watching today, seems to me that Locke would have no reason to ever want to leave the island.

I mean waiting for him back home is a life of drudgery in a dead end job, with a boss he hates and is hated by in return, no life outside the office including no family of any kind. Whereas on the island he is an extremely important member of the hierarchy that formed itself as a method of working together coherently (course now it's split in two but you get what I mean.) Not only that but the other islanders trust him as a man who can get things done, even if they don't fully trust his character. They look at his as a man of mystery, to be looked at with respect, fear or even a quiet kind of reverence maybe. All of which would be fine for him, because most importantly, they are not telling him what he cannot do!

Locke, is definitely up to something, I mean he lied about not seeing that creature (whatever it is), on top of his creepy atunement to the island seemingly. Very weird.
